Message: Hi Diane
You might be interested to know that one of your early retired breeding males -
Fire n Ice is still going strong at almost 12 years old. We got him as a three year old back in 1995. His named has remained 'Fire'. He has just recently moved with us from Upwey to Sorrento and has adapted to his new home amazingly well for an old cat. He has a little bronchitis these days but is still in good health overall and fit and active. Over the years his wonderful temperment has remained and he is a much loved member of the family

Message: Do you sell any of your Kittens? I would be very interested in a silver. I only recently ever had an Abby stay with me. I was taking care of it for a pet store because it had an eye infection and they didn't want it to have to sit in a cage in a back room while getting medicated. Well after one week we decided to keep him. He is so playful and entertaining to watch that I must have another one. He is quite different then the Scotish Fold that we already had(I still love my Scotich Fold just as much. They get along just fine but in a yonger brother, don't bother me, kind of way. Thank you for this wonderful site I had never seen or heard of a silver before.

Message: A friend found 4 kitttens in a "rabbit hole" on her property. mom was not far away- she had been killed by something wild (wolf, coyote?). She nursed them and then found homes for them. I fell in love and had a hard time choosing only 2 (I went for only 1!). One's white, the other PURE black. As they got older they showed signs of looking different from my other cats. People thought they were part siamese. Then I happened to see a picture of an Abyssinian at a pet store and realized thats what they were! Thanks for all the great info on this site! Suki and Hades are typical Abyssinian cats. Suki (japanese for "snow") has a black smudge on his forehead and "smudged" stripes on his tail. Hades is black right down to his wiskers and pads, and so sleek and elegant looking. They are about 5 months old and we love them to pieces!

Message: Loved your site! I have had an Abysinian for twelve years named Gibson and he is the love of my life other than my husband. He did a Whiskas commercial years ago and since then feels he is the star of this household. He walks into every neighbours house without invite, loves the bath, and has a facination with the computer, both my husband and I are musicians and when we have rehearsals and record, Gibson attends also. I found him funnily enough at the RSPCA which now seems many moons ago and knew nothing about Abysinians, now he is my best friend and I think they are a wonderful breed. Funny, compassionate, playful, and a joy to own.

Message: I first fell in love with Abys in 1974 when I was in college in Ann Arbor but would go to a pet store in Toledo once in a while. They had a resident red male and an occasional litter. At the time I could not have a cat but have had many since. My heart always goes back to that gorgeous red "wild" thing. My cat of 20 years recently passed and I have one remaining domestic longhair who is 15. When she leaves me I would really love to get an Aby. Australia is quite a long way to go. I loved looking at your pictures and reading about your home. Perhaps you could put me in touch with someone closer to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. I would not need a show quality cat, just a loving pet. I understand they are very loving. Thanks.

Message: Hey Diane thanks for replying to my message. All three abys are finally getting on together. The last two months have been trying, Oscar my sorrel aby, had to have a abscess removed (he looked so funny in the collar he had to wear) after he got a bit to cocky to my silver aby. Angel my silver aby was let out by a visitor and was hit by a car, she is alright now but had a collasped lung! We had to keep her quiet for 2 weeks. Oscar, once again has some battal wounds. He stirs his friends up and then can't stick up for himself, I'm in the middle of teaching him cat-karate. Tybbie my little blue baby is fine, surprisingly. Tybbie is at that stage when his either asleep or playing continously. I would love to come to a show with you or mayby do some work experience. I'll ring you soon. Ps Tell me when charlie is ready to retire because if you can't find him a home i can talk mum in to keeping him.

Message: I am a newcomer to the world of fancy cats, and had the very sad experience of losing my first aby, a blue male, to FIP after only 8 months. The Aby list was very supportive until I replaced Lionus with my blue silver abyssinian, Abu. Since then I have learned that there is much controversy about "accepted" colors, etc. Some members were very grouchy with me and gave me quite a scolding for not waitng to get a proper aby. I am delighted that there is a new list started just for Silver Aby folks so they don't have to keep defending themselves. And I'm always glad to know there are people out there like you.
Keep up the good work with your lovely cats!

Message: I discovered the joy of cats later in my life and was priveliged to have stumble across an almost Aby. She is 1/8 domestic but except for her weight problems, she is so characterisctic of her breed. She is such a joy and though I am so glad to have taken a kitten that was not pure and needed a good home, I was so lucky to have found her. I would love a pure Abysinian, but I don't know if I could ever leave another kitten in a shelter to simply satsfy my desire for one. I think that I could not and will cherish my fortune having found her.

Message: I was just visiting your website. I am interested in finding a local breeder. I love cats, but am highly allergic. I have heard that Abys have magical dander. I'm hoping this is so...my husband and I really want to adopt a cat. Thank you for your wonderful information

Message: I actually have a young cat (8 months) with silver ticking, brown/orange facial stripes, and very large ears. She looks identicle to many abyssinian photos I have seen. She is sleek with no heavy winter coat. I believe that she has some in her although her body pattern throws me off. She is perfectly symetrical with detailed circles on the sides of her belly, stripes on her legs and leopard like dark spots on her tummy. All surrounded by silver ticking. Can you let me know what you think? I will send you a picture if it will help. I would really appreciate it.

Message: Hi Dianne, I think your web site is the greatest. Shaz and I have recovered from the loss of Leah, and he now must be the most adored, loved, special aby in the state. He sleeps with me (of course), and on cold nights like to hop right into bed , head on pillow, just to let me know the heatings too low. He helps with gardening, cooking, and undoing the shopping and walking on me at 6 am to let me know it's walk time. Thankyou for providing me with such a grand companion.
