Many times, owners who walk large to giant breed dogs are completely overpowered by the sheer strength and power of these tremendous dogs. Behaviorists can be expensive to provide your dog with walking etiquette and often does not guarantee success. The Halti leads have been designed to incorporate the shape of the head of canines for maximum comfort while allowing owners control of the walk.

The Halti headcollar has been designed to wrap around the muzzle and face of the canine with an optional extra strap which runs from the nose to the neck. The leash is clipped onto the underside of the muzzle of your pooch and has an additional strap for attaching onto the collar for safety purposes. The optional extra strap will prevent the dog from pulling forward or to the side during walks.

The canine will have free vision as the fitted tool is designed according to the shape of the muzzle, head and neck of a range of different breeds. The safety mechanism has been included in case of a situation where the pooch manages to remove the collar from the muzzle. There is no need to worry should this occur during a walk as the additional strap will still be linked to the collar and leash.

This option is especially viable for the owners of very large breed dogs who struggle immensely when walking the powerful pooch. Unlike chokers or pinch collars, the Halti wraps around the muzzle and neck for comfort without causing any discomfort to the canine. During an outing, there is no need to worry about lunging, pulling and restricting of the collar around the delicate throat area which may cause considerable damage to this region.

Dr Roger Mugford is the creator of the original Halti collars and decided to base the design upon his observation of struggling owners and their dogs. The design follows the principle of the head collar which is used for horses, which will work toward guiding the head where the body will automatically follow. Additional straps around the head will prevent the canine from escaping and prevent the occurrence of pulling.

This creation naturally follows the contours of the face of the canine and therefore provides maximum comfort. Positioning occurs along the nose which allows owners control as well as steering power over the animal. There are numerous advantages in utilizing this item especially true for larger canines.

The Halti collar also incorporates an advanced option which is the ring strap for the prevention of pulling and lunging. It is important to walk your large dog with a shorter lead and should a sudden lunge or pull be attempted, the ring will close shut around the jaws and the behavior stopped. Good behavior while walking will relax the ring strap for freedom of movement.

Halti collars include a soft material and is available in a range of sizes for maximum control over larger breeds.
